Coaster Critique: Weyerbacher Winter Ale

On the Seventh day of Beermas…..

Name: Weyerbacher Winter Ale

Brewed by: Weyerbacher brewing Company

ABV: 5.6%

Purchased: Bangor Wine and Cheese

Pours a deep brown with reddish highlights, raised a small khaki colored head.

Smells very malty with some caramel sweetness, maybe a hint of dark fruit, I’m not detecting any hops.

This is nice malty winter ale, roasted grains, some bittersweet chocolate and maybe just a touch of spice, but very light if any. This beer has a medium body with a clean dry finish.

Overall a nice smooth ale, this is a beer I could sit and enjoy a couple of on a cold snowy evening. Weyerbacher’s beers are pretty easy to find around here, go get a bottle, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Cheers!
