Brewed By: Andrews Brewing Company
Purchased: State Street Wine Cellar
I don’t see Andrews’s beers around very often, I usually catch them at brewfests a couple time during the year and I always enjoy their stuff, so when I saw this at State Street Wine Cellar I picked up a bottle.
This pale ale pours dark amber and is very clear in the glass, the pour produced a short white head that fell quickly but left lacing down the glass.
Smell leads with malt, coming through with a biscuit aroma, followed by the hops that have an earthy, grassy character.
Taking a sip the first flavor that I get is toasted malt with just a hint of sweetness, followed by the hops, which bring a grassy, lightly peppery flavor and a clean even bitterness. This beer is light in body and lightly carbonated.
Overall a very drinkable beer, crisp and clean with a nice balance between malt and hops, maybe a bit thinner in body than I prefer but it’s still a tasty beer. I’ll keep an eye out for more beer from Andrews Brewing and look forward to seeing them at brewfests this year.
Cheers!
