Coaster Critique: Gluten Free Week – Dry-Hopped Cidah

Hard cider is a tasty option for anyone looking for a gluten free beverage, Urban Farm Fermentory produces some of my favorite hard ciders and as a bonus they are a local company based out of Portland Maine.

Name: Dry-Hopped Cidah

Fermented By: Urban Farm Fermentory

ABV: 6.8%

Purchased: Bangor Wine and Cheese

This Cidah pours a golden yellow color with a steady visible carbonation, looking close I can see some yeast floating around in there but otherwise very clear.

This is one of my favorite ciders, it’s dry hopped with cascades so it has a nice floral nose like a pale or India pale ale. Citrus and a light grassy hop aroma blend together with the tart, crisp apple.

This cider is wild fermented dry so it’s not sweet at all; its flavor is very crisp, there is a nice tart, almost sour apple flavor and a slightly grassy, earthy flavor, very refreshing.

Overall a really nice cider, Urban Farm Fermentory continues to impress me with their flavorful fermented beverages and the stubby bottles are the coolest thing on the shelf.  If you enjoy ciders or kombucha (which is also gluten free) I strongly encourage you to check out what Urban Farms Fermentory has going on.

Cheers!
