Coaster Critique: Geaghan Brothers Brewing – Glide

Name: Glide

Brewed by: Geaghan Brothers Brewing

ABV: 6.5%
After receiving a Tweet from Geaghan Brothers Brewing that they had a new IPA on tap, I decided to take the family out for Sunday brunch and review this one-off American IPA brewed for the Phish Concert that’ll be happening on the Waterfront on July 3rd.

Glide is a copper/gold color with a short frothy white head

Nice strong hoppy aroma, grapefruit citrus notes and a slight earthiness. Malts come through as toasted grains and some caramel/toffee.

Glide has a nice grainy malt body, some caramel comes through. This IPA has bite, the hops have an earthy, grassy flavor with just a splash of citrus on the tail end and an aggressive bitterness that grabs you by the tongue.

Overall a hopheads delight, this single hopped brew really highlights the flavor and aroma of Columbus hops. With a ton of hop aroma and a healthy dose of bitter, it’s not going to be for everyone but if you love a hoppy beer get down there to check this one out and do yourself a favor and pair it with some Geaghan’s wings.

Cheers!
