Here’s to another year of beer

So they say “time flies when you’re having fun”, if that’s true then I must be having a blast, it’s been one year since I wrote my first review for this blog, I reviewed Rising Tide’s Zephyr, which is still one of my favorite Maine IPA’s. When I was writing that review I was unclear as to what this blog would become, I had lot of Ideas but only two goals, to promote craft beer, especially local Maine craft beer and to have fun doing it.

The first goal is actually pretty easy, I genuinely enjoy the beer being produced in the state of Maine and I’m happy to talk about it, write about and of course drink it. The second goal is a bit more tricky, I love to attend events and drink beer but I’d be liar if I told you it didn’t feel like work at the end of the day when I have to sit down and write about It and a lot like work when I spend hours reading Maine Liquor Laws, but in the end you take the good with the bad, because the day I hung out at Sebago Brewing Company  brewing a pilot batch of beer definitely didn’t feel like work.

I work a full time job, unfortunately it has nothing to do with beer, in my free time I review beers, scratch down ideas and notes and do research for blog posts, so why do I do it? There are a couple answers; first off I’m passionate about beer, all aspects, the business, the process, the people and of course the end product. The other reason is You, the readers, the ones who keep me motivated. I share my adventures, my thoughts and things I’ve learned with you and in turn you keep me interested in this thing that feels like a second job.

So thank you.

Thank you to anyone who read this blog in the past year, to the people who stopped me at the bar or on the street and told me how much you enjoy what I’ve written, to those of you that shared my writing with others, to all of my supporters and of course my Family,  I raise my glass to you.

Here’s to another year of beer

Cheers
