Coaster Critique: Sierra Nevada Celebration

On the Eleventh day of Beermas…..

Name: CelebrationSierra Pour

Brewed By: Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

Style: Fresh Hop Ale

ABV: 6.8%

Celebration pours a dark copper color that shines gold when held to the light, pour produced a frothy white head that settled some and left lacing down the glass.

The nose on this beer is all about the hops, big piney aroma with a touch of citrus in the background.

This beer makes me smile, initial sip is slightly sweet caramel and a touch of bready toasted grains that gives way to a burst of piney hops, there is a touch of citrus in play as well that reminds me of lemon zest. The bitterness is nice and easy, not a palate wrecker in my opinion.

Overall a beer worth trying it you love hops. This is the time of year when people start looking for stouts, porters and winter warmers and it’s refreshing to see a winter beer that’s a fresh hop IPA. I would say this is my favorite seasonal ale.

Cheers!
