Coaster Critique: Marshall Wharf Sexy Chaos

I’ve had this beer in my fridge for a while now, I’ve been waiting for the right time to break I out, with the Olympics in full swing in Sochi, Russia and Valentine’s Day just days away I felt like the time was finally right.

Name: Sexy ChaosPour

Brewed By: Marshall Wharf

Style: Russian Imperial Stout infused with oak and vanilla beans

ABV: 10.7%

Sexy Chaos pours a perfect black, when held to the light not even a hint of a glow breaks through, pour produced a thick milk chocolate colored head that left lacing the entire glass.

Smells of deep roasted grains, prunes, cherries and bittersweet chocolate, alcohol and oak mingle in the background.

This stout is rich in flavor, bitter dark chocolate, coffee, hints of cherries, vanilla and cream. The tail end of the sip has a subtle alcohol bite that is balanced well by a smooth oak finish. Each sip is as smooth as silk and leaves you wanting more.

This beers name represents it well, dark and seductive with a silky smooth texture and pumped up ABV to put you in the mood, paired with immense depth of flavor that makes you feel like all hell has broken loose in your glass. One of these 16oz cans split between you and your significant other in front of a roaring fire might bring on another form of sexy chaos. I have heard that Marshall Wharf will be releasing another batch of Sexy Chaos cans in the very near future so keep an eye on your local bottle shop.

Cheers
