Ideas for those leftover beers

You just hosted a party, maybe it was to watch the Big Game or a house warming or whatever, it’s the day after and you find that your considerate guests have left their beer behind for you, the problem is you drink craft beer and they don’t or worse yet they brought and left Macro beer after drinking all your Craft Beer. You have options, you could get new friends or you can work on getting your current friends to drink and appreciate craft beer but for right now the immediate problem is the fridge full of BMC (Bud/Miller/Coors) that just isn’t for you.

Here are a few ideas on how to get rid of that beer without drinking it and without wasting it.

Cook with it:

I love cooking with beer but I hate wasting a beer that I want to drink to cook with it, I prefer to sacrifice a beer that I don’t care to drink to improve the food I’m cooking. There are plenty of options out there, search “Cooking with Beer” and you’ll find plenty of ideas. Some of my favorites include beer can chicken, boiling bratwurst, marinating steak, baking beer bread an even pretzels..

Clean with it:

Maybe the party got a little crazy and some drinks got spilled or food dropped on your carpet? Dabbing at the stains with beer can help lift them out, though you should probably still get a carpet cleaner and finish the job off. Beer can also be used to clean jewelry but I don’t wear much jewelry so maybe use it to clean the sink and bath fittings or soak your shower head. You could also soak your pots and pans to give them back a shine or help clean off that food that burned on. Wash the dog with it, seriously, don’t let fido drink the beer but mix it with his shampoo, or mix it with yours, remember Body on Tap from the 70’s?

Full cans would make great paperweights, maybe you can use them to teach the kids how to juggle? Open 4 or 5 bottles, pour out different amounts from each then blow across the tops to make a musical instrument, I’ll be looking out for the next album by the Dirty Bud Band. Mix a beer with water and give the houseplants a drink.

Get creative with that beer you don’t want or just give to family or friends who like it, but whats the fun in that?

Cheers
